Service Through Dedication.
Founded in 1951, the Bells Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department. Operating under the City of Bells administration, the department is comprised of 16 dedicated volunteer firefighters. Our service area includes the City of Bells and the immediate Grayson County area surrounding Bells. In addition to providing fire suppression for our own service area, we also frequently provide mutual aid to the Whitewright Fire Department, Tom Bean Fire Department, Sherman Fire Department, and Denison Fire Department. The average call volume is approximately 250 calls per year. This includes fire calls, motor vehicle collisions, public assists, and EMS assists as needed. We have 4 members that are certified firefighters. Of these 4 firefighters, 2 are paramedics and 2 are EMT’s. Everyone on the department constantly trains to obtain new knowledge and retain what they have already learned. We currently have 2 engines, 2 brush trucks and one battalion vehicle in our fleet.
In addition to our fire suppression activities, we also provide fire safety education, in home pre-fire planning, fire inspections, and fire investigations. For more information, please fill out our Contact Us form.
To meet with us in person, feel free to attend an open meeting at our Fire Station every Thursday night at 7 PM.
